An Image showing Uniqueness and it's highlights against copying |
Whenever there is a conflict between two things, we assume that it is happening to find out which is superior and which is inferior, or maybe at the end of that process one will win and the other will lose, and often this does not happen; there is only one thing that happens, and that is the end of uniqueness and the beginning of averaging.
Let me give an example, there is a software, suppose there is a web hosting software and it provides a feature to its customers, it provides a feature set, then a new web hosting company comes in the market, it provides some more features, the customers move towards it and the big company thinks that oh oh it is eating our market share so we should also add those features and it does and then the small company adds those features which the big company already had and then this feature war continues until a time comes when both the companies are providing the exact same thing, similarly if you want to take the example of a cold drink company, there is a cold drink in the market which is sweet. And a new cold drink comes, which is a little less sweet, and some customers start preferring it because in any customer base, in any consumer set, there will be people whose tastes are a little different. So these customers who went for the less sweet cold drink did not go because they did not like the big one; they went because their preference was a low-sugar cold drink, and till now they did not have the option of drinking anything other than this. The big company panics and reduces its sugar content. The small company increases its sugar content so that it can become a little like the big company. And eventually a time comes when the big company and the small company are providing the exact same thing.
There are two countries, and one of them is a big country and the other is a small country. Suppose the army of the big country has 30 lakh soldiers. The army of the small country has 15 lakh soldiers. The small country panics, and fearing that if it is attacked, it will lose, it increases the number of its army to 20 lakh, 30 lakh. The big country increases this number to 20 lakh, 30 lakh. It sees the escalation and panics itself and increases its army to 50 lakhs. The small country increases it further, and the big country increases it further. A time comes when the armies of both become comparable, and there is no difference between the two. And now we come to the point that is playing out in front of us, of machines and humans, of AI and human creativity. For a long time, humans were being told that their way of video presentation, their way of video production, and their way of editing should be clean; that is, there should be no fumbles in it, you should not cough in the middle of the video, and graphics should come in the video in a mechanical way, in a professional way, quote and quote, in a professional way, and that is why we used to make videos like that. Our videos were such that no one fumbled, in which no one behaved like humans; there was a kind of mechanical delivery.
We spent years making videos like machines, and now a time has come when machines are making videos like humans; that is, when a human makes a video, he tries not to fumble, and when a machine makes a video, it deliberately makes it clean with its content. The machine fumbles in the video so that it looks like a human. The machine is trying to become like a human. The human is trying to become like a machine. Inevitably, a time will come when there will be no difference between the videos made by a machine and a human. This is not happening because machines are becoming superior. This is also happening because humans are sacrificing their uniqueness and reducing their value and are trying to become like machines. This is a very strong strain in our culture, online culture, and offline culture. If you go and look at culture, religious culture, etc., you will see that the person who is most devoted to tradition is the one who has no imagination. At one point in his life, he was handed a box. In that box it was written that you are this, your role is this. You have to hate this, respect this, believe these things to be true, and believe these things to be false. And he adopted that box completely. He molded himself completely according to the definition of that box, and now he has become a box. He is out of that box. Can't even think of thinking Can't even imagine what this is. This is the same tendency I was talking about in the above article. This is the exact opposite of being unique. This is a lifestyle where your life gets meaning from how much you are like others. You don't like people who are not like you and people like you. You like people who are just like you. Believe what you believe, say what you say, speak in your language, and wear the symbols of your religion on their bodies. Hate the same people you hate, Use the same words to describe people that you use This is not a surprising thing. From the beginning of human civilization, a kind of tribalism has been helping us to live in society. If there is a society where there is a person who sees something different, then it is possible that he does not say that different thing because he feels that if he says this thing, then other people of his society will turn against him. If you are a primitive man and you live in a primitive society, then it is very important for you to have the support of the people around you because without their support you will not be able to survive. When you go to the jungle, you find a lion. The lion has teeth, weight, speed, and claws. You have nothing. You have the people who are standing next to you and around you. That is why, evolutionarily, we became such a creature for whom consensus, agreement of others, and support of others were most important. And sometimes when we had a choice whether to take the agreement of others or follow our thoughts, follow our ideas, then people used to choose consensus because they got safety and security in consensus. Many times people say that if God does not exist, then why did people in every society believe in God? They did so because they saw value in agreement with others. If they did not do so, their life would have become very difficult. It is not that atheism is a new thing. It is not that the claims made about the existence of God are being doubted for the first time. Humans are doing this, it has always been happening, there was a time when expressing this doubt was more dangerous and now it is perhaps a little less dangerous than then, but it is still very dangerous, but despite this danger, despite these disagreements, what I said in the beginning of this video is still true and that is that whenever there is a conflict, a kind of average reach starts to be done, if you are an atheist and you have a conflict with a religious speaker, then eventually you will start becoming like him, if he says that I consider this book a secret and I will not listen to anything other than this book and I will never move beyond this book and you keep becoming like him, then it may be that a day comes when you start saying that I will never move beyond atheism, I will not listen to anything other than atheism and so on and so forth and this is not a good thing at least for free thought, there is a strain in the flow of civilization, there is a pressure which homogenizes all of us, which makes us all one Becoming a copy of someone else makes you helpless. You will see this in everyday life as well. If your neighbor has a car, then there is pressure on you that you should also have a car. If your neighbor goes on a foreign trip, then there is pressure on you to go on a foreign trip. There is pressure on you to become a carbon copy of your neighbor. If you resist that pressure, then it is possible that your neighbor and the people around him, your general society, may look down upon you. But if you successfully resist and really refuse to become his carbon copy, then it is possible that you will find people around you who appreciate the fact that you are not like others. If some people are successful in doing all this, then it is possible that we will be able to survive not just the coming decades or centuries but also the coming millennia.
